the fact is, this guys post about the ps3 slim had details that were exactly what appeared in the confirmed photoshopped best buy ad. he did get the 160GB thing wrong which he chalks up to “i hear a lot of things”. but he must have also heard that the system was going to be backwards compatible too. its not. that phony best buy ad seemed to indicate that it would be.

also, not long after people were calling bullshit on the best buy ad and details he removed his original post. have a look…it’s gone. pretty confident in those details you just put up for your pals, right?

Sony is making its move. PS3 slim, 160 Gb Hard drive, backwards comp. seems to stay, all at a $299 pricepoint. Very likely getting announced at GamesCom in Germany next week. The holiday deals will be on the older PS3 models with game bundles packed in. I don’t know how Sony is getting away with this pricedrop yet as Backwards compatibility stays, Blu-ray movie support stays, HDMI, etc. First week of September it will be available for retail purchase in the U.S.

Wow. He must be in the know guys! Or wait, he saw the Best Buy ad thats making the rounds on the Internet and jumped the gun not realizing it was fake. You can see that in this GAF thread and note a few things:

1. Best Buy ad copy uses PlayStation not Playstation.

2. The image used is a mock up taken from something someone made on GAF.

3. Spacing on the pricing font is wrong.

4. No.

A small PS3 is probably going to happen. Too much chatter about it to not. But this guy doesnt have reliable info.

Remember a few months ago when they showed off the new super badass XNA dev kits? Guess who got one today? I am already having a blast with the new options.

What an idiot. He didn’t get a “new super badass XNA dev kit”. Everyone with a regular vanilla dev kit that most of the press has got this update. It doesn’t do anything special. He’s not special. Have to wonder how many other idiots he’s tricked into thinking he is cool. Moron.

One more so that I can kill this with fire. This is a picture I took, from a download available on the Japan Xbox Live marketplace. I don’t know if it should be there this early, I don’t know if it will be taken down, I don’t care. I just want people to stop bitching and asking me like I made the game. It is real. Maybe it will never come out. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t real at some point. I own a Phantasy Star game for the PS2 that was on the Dreamcast and it never came out. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t real.
